Welcome to XL Horse Racing Tips

Firstly, I would like to thank you for taking an interest in my blog, which will focus on two-year-old horse racing - and very selective, speculative tips.

If you think the name sounds familiar (Tony Coote) well that is because I am the twin brother of Jason, who runs High Class Equine with my youngest brother, Gareth.

One way or another we all have a connection with two-year-old racing, which has been a passion of mine since my teenage years.

With the new Flat racing season starting on 2nd April, I thought it would be an ideal time to introduce myself. XL will not be a daily blog - as I work full-time - but it is worth taking a look to see if we have a selection because my focus is on speculative odds (20/1, 25/1. 33/1, 50/1 +). In fact, many of my selections will be 100/1+ on the exchanges. Unlike many tipsters, I am not so interested in the form of horses - it makes no difference to me whether they come from fashionable stables or not. I simply pick two-year-olds by the way they look. This may seem a novel approach but it has paid dividends for me.

Can you remember a horse called Puggy? Although she ran some time ago, I will never forget her debut run because I won big that day. Take a look at her form (click). I picked her because of one reason - she caught my eye. I backed her at odds of 200/1. I have picked many winners in a similar style and this year's two-year-old season I am going to share my thoughts with my blog readers.

Obviously horses at huge odds do not win every day, but I feel confident that I can pick a few decent winners this season.

Take a look at XL Tips.
